The hulking animal claws at the man &#8211; who goes limp in its grip.<br \/>\nThe lion drags the man farther into the enclosure, into some bushes and onlookers scream for help.<\/p>\n<p>Then, suddenly, a loud bang is heard. The lion drops Mr Hodge and runs for cover.<br \/>\nA woman howls in horror at what she has just witnessed while another man is heard shouting &#8216;get a rifle just in case&#8217;.<br \/>\nThe big cat is thought to have been put down in the wake of the grisly attack.<br \/>\nMarakele remains closed in the wake of the attack while Chrissy was belived to be too upset to comment.<br \/>\nMarakele Predator Park was established in 2010 by Mr Hodge and his wife Chrissy after they emigrated from the UK, according to its website.<br \/>\nThey moved to South Africa in 1999 and started a lion conservation project in 2003 on a farm 30kms from Thabazimbi.<br \/>\nA few years later they relocated to the town in the Limpopo province and founded the Marakele Predator Park.<\/p>\n<p>Their current site\u00a0has over a dozen big cat, including white lions, cheetahs and two Bengal tigers.<br \/>\nGuests can stay in safari tents and each night they &#8216;will be able to hear the lions roar, hyenas laugh, and jackals calling&#8217;.<br \/>\nTents are furnished with double or single beds, and each one has an en-suite bathroom with a shower, the website reads.<\/p>\n<p>The video sparked debate on social media, with some criticising the man for entering the enclosure.<\/p>\n<p>One viewer questioned why he had ventured so close to the big cat.<br \/>\n&#8216;Why was he inside the enclosure?
