Ms Masarira had earlier confided in a friend that she was pregnant but wanted to abort. Writing on Facebook, Masarira’s close confidante said “Linda (sic) came to my house on Sunday and confided in me that she was pregnant but she couldn’t keep this one because her plate is full (referring to her five children) and also didn’t know the father,” wrote Kimberly Muzenda.
It then appears the abortion attempt turn horror as Masarira bled continuously leading to her admission at a Harare Hospital.
A close source to Linda told this publication that “its not the first time she has aborted. If you recall soon after being released from prison sometime back she had a similar situation. The problem is she doesn’t like condoms or other contraceptives, she says it cuts her pleasure short.”
In a case of twisted fate, Masarira’s other friend a one Abigail Mupambi notorious for doing dirty on behalf of Zanu PF, launched a social media campaign to fundaraise for an so called operation for Linda Masarira. The response by Zimbabweans from all walks of life has been hard hitting.
Some even called on Linda to ‘die’ since she was useless. Still others advised her to go and get money from Zanu PF.
It is understood that police at Matapi are now investigating a case of abortion against Linda Masarira. A police source confided to this publication saying “soon we will make a public call for anyone with information that may assist us in ascertaining what happened. If she did actually abort then we will arrest her whether she is sick or not. Abortion is a crime.”

It is with deepening sadness that the trending stories purporting that Ms Masarira is pregnant and requests donations for abortion are not only false but maliciously peddled with the intention of soiling her reputation and continue the cyber-bullying trend directed at her.
The following points seek to clarify her medical issue and will therefore divulge personal health information in a bid to shed light on her current issue.
– Linda was rushed to Emergency 24hr rooms following the bursting of ovarian cysts.
– She has been discharged pending the raising of cash for an emergency full hysterectomy.
– The name of the Doctor and gynaecologist handling her medical case can and will be availed persons who seek to help her. Scan evidence can also be availed.
– All communications are currently going through her delegated communication team, as the hate speech may cause further damage to her health, as hypertension will delay her operation.
In as much as there may be false stories making circulation on social media, may we stop and reflect on the implications of sharing unverified news on social media, as it not only affects her person, but has an effect on her immediate family as well.
